Well I guess there’s no secret in what this blog post is about! And let me tell y’all how absolutely excited I am.
A year ago when I first attended TCF Style Expo, I never would’ve imagined that one day I’d have a platform at this event to speak passionately about something I care about. Yet, here it is actually happening!
When the call for speakers opened, I was hesitant to pitch because I felt like perhaps my audience isn’t large enough to qualify. Or maybe the discussion I want to have isn’t one they’ll deem worthy to have. Turns out, my concerns were unfounded.
I was so pleased to receive my confirmation email and so excited to see my idea come to fruition.
Navigating life in a fat body is tough enough in today’s society; but navigating it in the “plus community” isn’t always as easy as it should be when you fall into extended size category.
Body diversity and representation is something I speak to often here on my blog and on my Instagram. So many plus brands benefit financially from our dollars but don’t deem body types of diverse shapes and sizes worthy of representation.
I’m excited to have this conversation alongside the following women:
They all have something valuable to add to the conversation and hopefully this conversation can spark a much needed change.
