Things Looking Up

That’s right! The awful wait is over and ya girl is fabulously cancer free! I don’t think I can ever adequately describe the fear that enveloped my mind at the thought of having cancer of any sort. I briefly discussed it here. I tried my best to take the “wait and see” approach and to be calm; but let’s be honest, if you’ve followed my blog at all for awhile then you know how impossible that is for me.

So on onward and upwards! Though the Hashimoto’s nightmare is still live and direct; at least I can not be worried about the C word.

Today is my 11 year blogger anniversary! Whooo hooo!

It took me a little while to figure out what I wanted to write about and how I wanted to deliver. I think it’s safe to say that at 32 I have finally found my voice. I look at the success of other bloggers and I admit it can be absolutely intimidating. They seem so together and advanced; but then I gotta remind myself that I have been doing this a looooong time. It just took me a little longer to really commit to myself as a brand. But if I can support and invest in everyone else’s endeavors; I should be able to do this for myself.

So the thing is, I discovered just how much I really love fashion. Styling more specifically. I cannot believe that it has taken me this long to figure out that I really do love fashion. I think I never indulged before because I’ve been so busy being mom, wife, mental health awareness advocate that I almost didn’t believe I could be into something else so passionately and so girly. You guys have got to believe that there was a moment in time that my sexuality was questioned daily simply because I wouldn’t leave the flannel pjs or sweatpants alone.

At any rate, I discovered this great app called Polyvore which basically lets me create all day. I am totally addicted. I’m 32 years old and it’s like playing Barbie’s Cool Looks Fashion Designs-except better graphics; way better graphics.

Which has left me with the idea of doing Fresh Fridays look book. Every week I’ll compose a few outfits to wear for dating or socializing on the weekends! I am totally looking forward to sharing my ideas with you all and I hope you leave me some feedback.

Thank you to everybody who has taken the time to subscribe and/or follow my blog. I appreciate the support so very much. If we’re not connected on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram feel free to give a follow and I’ll be sure to do the same!
